On a low mound in a square compound on open ground behind a bungalow in the middle of a housing estate.
LOCKED The mound is covered in pieces of slate. All surface features remain intact although one of the louvres on the ventilation shaft adjacent to the access shaft is detached. The hatch is locked but can be opened with a Scottish ‘T bar’ key. Internally remaining artefacts includes the table, shelf, cupboard, BPI mount, FSM probe rod, cluster map, box of ROC magazines, battery box, large splint, small splint, rope, 9 Jerry cans, pick axe, dustpan, spade, two lights and the visitors log.
WWII Aircraft Post was at NM 74259 17655 which is on the summit of Dun Mor, reported to be a ruin but not been up to check.
Opened in 1960 and closed in 1991.
