It is on a bit of a mound on the top of a sort of hill about 100m or so from the edge. Quite easy to get to, and we were lucky the corn had been cropped. The views to the south and west are lovely.
It’s held shut by a big bolt, recently fitted (it wasn’t there when I flew my drone over it last year!), so I couldn’t get inside, but a video on youtube shows the inside is very empty, with no artefacts remaining.
The outside is a bit neglected and showing signs of age and degradation. The plinth where the GZI mount would be is mostly gone. the FSI tube is still there and open on the top. No sign of the BPI pipe, but there is lots of undergrowth; I just prodded with my foot and couldn’t see any pipe or stump. The air vent is crumbling.
Nice to see it’s mostly intact externally, it would be nice to see inside too.
