On a mound at the end of a line of telegraph poles, in a high fenced compound 200 yards east of an un-named minor road and opposite Nant y Moch Reservoir.
OPEN All surface features are intact but there has been some erosion of the mound leaving the concrete apron around the access shaft exposed. The hatch is open. There is some flaking of the blue/grey paint. The metal ventilation louvres are unusually small and recessed into the holes. Internally the following artefacts remain: table, shelf, cupboard, 2 original folding canvas chairs, one other chair, BT junction boxes and wiring, 2 lights, WB1401 carrier receiver and WB1410 filter unit and a bucket. The post was once occupied by anti nuclear protesters from Aberystwyth University
An unusual 2 story aircraft post stands at SN75008100 in the village on the south side of an un-named minor road, close to a sharp bend in that road. The field is between the school and the Penion Estate. The building consists of a brick observation room raised on two brick stilts at one end and attached to a single storey brick building with a hipped roof at the other end. There is a crew room adjacent to the open observation area. The single storey crew building is reduced to a few course of bricks along three sides.
Opened in 1963 and closed in 1991.
