In a rectangular compound beside public footpath behind the North West corner of a football ground which is on the North side of B3400 at its junction with Sprents Lane.
LOCKED There is evidence of a larger, earlier compound with some fence posts remaining. All surface features remain intact with flaking of the light green paint. Unusually, the post has two steps, one small low step on one side and one small higher step on the opposite side. There is additional concrete around the base of the FSM and BPI pipes. The hatch is locked. Internally the following items remain in place: table (detached), shelf, cupboard, Dexion shelf rack, mirror, dustpan/brush, rubber gloves, small wooden cabinet, post battery in its box, BT junction boxes/wiring, first aid poster, light, 3 saucepans, frying pan, 2 waste bins, bucket, broom, rake, paper tray. The post was sold in August 2004. The new owner intends to remove and dispose of the contents and may eventually develop the site above. He intends to retain the bunker however. Casual visitors to the site would not be welcomed.
Opened in 1960 and closed in 1991.
