On a mound in a square compound in the South West corner of a pastoral field East of slip road from School Bank onto the A449. Accessed along footpath from School Bank, 100 yards North of the post
LOCKED All surface features remain intact with some flaking of the grey paint. There are two metal pipes for taking cables into the post sticking out of the ground. The hatch is locked. Internally much remains including table, shelf, cupboard, chair, trestle table, three mattresses in plastic packets, rack of wooden shelves, three Jerry cans, BPI mounting board, wiring, light, mirror. cleaning materials, wooden trunk, fire blanket box, some papers, and a sign that reads ‘Royal Observer Corps 12 Group 26 Post Ombersley Diamond Jubilee Year 1985’.
The concrete base of the aircraft post stands just outside the compound. It is 4' X 8' with evidence of a metal mounting.
Opened in 1961 and closed in 1991.
