This is a new sewer, 6.5km long connecting existing sewers in Lawrence Weston on to the Frome Valley relief sewer near Cribbs Causeway. It is intended to make transfer of waste to the wtaer recycling centre in Avonmouth more efficient.
Mostly constructed using a tunnel boring machine, it passes under the M5 and Newtork Rail Henbury Loop freight line. It is intended to last at least 100 years.
It was built between 2019 and 2023.
