The Mid Glamorgan County Main Emergency Centre was one of the last purpose built protected emergency centres opening in 1993 under the Magistrates Court in Llwynypia (entrance at the rear). It acted as joint emergency centre with Rhondda District Council and is still in use as the Rhondda Cynon Taff Joint Emergency Centre.
It replaced the bunker at Waterton (Bridgend), an ex-Civil Defence Corps bunker that was refurbished in 1981 but abandoned after local protests - the site has now been cleared.

I used to work for the local Council’s legal department that used the bunker as storage for old files and documents. I had to go there one day in around 2005 to sort out a lot of the old and damaged files. There was a lot of water leaking into the bunker, and this had caused water damage to a lot of paperwork. The entrance is at the front of the building, on the left at ground level, and not at the rear as your site claims.
