In a rectangular compound at the end of a line of telegraph poles within a compound in the south west corner of a field at the top of St. Johns Hill, close to a public footpath.
LOCKED All surface features are intact with some flaking of the light green paint. The louvres on the ventilation shaft adjacent to the access shaft have fallen off. The FSM pipe is encased in a square block of concrete also painted light green. The hatch is locked but can be opened with a T bar key. Internally the post is fire damaged and vandalized. Remaining artifacts include the cupboard, table, shelf (both detached), some wiring, bucket, low table and two small shelves on the end wall.
The legs and plinth of an Orlit B stand nearby, the sides and roof have collapsed and lie on the ground below.
Opened in 1963 and closed in 1991.
