In fenced compound on North side of Budgin’s Hill.
LOCKED Externally pained white and in excellent condition. The post was purchased by Mark Ormiston in 1994 with a view to maintaining it in original condition as a memorial to the ROC. Although the bunks and chairs were missing, the rest of the furniture was still in place along with many papers including the post long and personnel details of the men that had manned the post at stand-down; six of them have since returned. Since buying the post, Mark has been able to replace most of the instruments including the GZI, BPI, FSM, siren and telecommunications equipment from the Home Office redundant stores at Marchington in Staffordshire. The more valuable instruments however, are not kept on site following a break in in 1996. Although this is a private museum, Mark has offered to open his post once a year to KDRG members and other interested parties, this post may rarely be open to the public.
Opened in 1962 and closed in 1991.
