In the grounds of a disused Home Office sector operations room/rotor station. 20 yards North of the Southern perimeter fence and equidistant between the eastern and western perimeter fences.
OPEN The ventilation shaft has been demolished but all other surface features remain intact. There is some damage to the access shaft, the step is overturned and the louvres are missing. The hatch has been removed and the shaft capped with concrete when inspected in 1999. The site was owned by the Ministry of Defence until 2001 and was in use until April 1997 by the RAF as an RP for the ADGE Radar system (Type 93). They moved out in April/May 1997 moving to Trimmingham (near Cromer) as the radar that had been there (Type 91) had been sold to the Turkish Ministry of Defence. The new owner lives on site and allowed the post to be opened for an inspection on 20.7.2002. The concrete cap was removed and the post was found to be internally totally stripped.
Opened in 1961 and closed in 1968.
