OPEN When visited in 2001 the post was Locked All surface features remain intact with the green paint in very good condition. A metal dome on the ventilation shaft indicates this was a master post. A disused telegraph pole stands in the compound with another by the road. When visited in 2007 the top of the access shaft had been severely damaged by vandals the hatch is now partly detached. Internally the post is a mess but there has been no other damage. The following artefacts remain: table, shelf, cupboard, small wooden table, BPI mount, cables, 2 canvas folding chairs, many papers, mirror light and a large banner for 20 Post Carron. The vandalism employed to force entry into this post is to be deplored.
