On Bonhill, 75 yards north of a steep track to Northfield Cottage (disused).
OPEN There is damage to the access shaft and the hatch is missing. One rung of the ladder is broken and most of the others are bent. The ventilation shaft is largely demolished. Three guying points indicate this was a master post. Internally the post is strewn with rubbish and broken wooden furniture. There is also some evidence of fire damage. The hatch and counterbalance weight are at the bottom of the shaft and the ventilation louvres are in the toilet recess. Parts of the large rectangular compound fencing remain.
Opened in 1961 and closed in 1991.
