The ROC post is now unlocked with flaking green paint on the hatch. On the exterior the bunker is in good condition with the BPI (Bomb Power Indicator) mount still intact and the FSM (Fixed Survey Meter) mount also intact. The steps to the access shaft are also intact but the concrete around the hatch is starting the crack with the ventilation louvres also starting to crack.
The supports for the fence line are now gone. On the inside many artefacts still remain which include, cupboard, drawers, chemical toilet, toilet paper, brush, documents, carpet, cleaning items, table, pens, screws, mattresses for the beds, beds stands, visitor booklet, chair, pickaxe, There is also a sign that says Edinburgh 14 . 21 post, with the sump pump also still intact. The ROC post is in good condition and pretty good for a 1991 shut down.

This is why we can’t have nice things!
I was very excited to find a post so close to my home in Edinburgh. All these years and I never realised it was here. However, the place looks like it has been ransacked since the last update in August. The hatch had been left open, and the floor was covered in a couple of inches of water. Many of the original items were gone, but there were still plenty of documents to look at. The place is in desperate need of a bit of TLC. The overall structure seems to be holding up pretty well though. Definitely worth the visit but be sure to wear wellies.
