The post opened as Easington in December 1938 at TA378384. After closing in 1945 the post was reactivated in June 1951 with a new low level reporting roll. At this time it was resited to TA399205 and renamed Out Newton. It was again resited to TA369242 in February 1961 with a underground post opening nearby in February 1965. It had a very short life closing in October 1968 during the reorganisation of the ROC.
OPEN All surface features are in place but the ventilation shaft has been reduced to ground level. The top of the access shaft is badly damaged with part of its adjacent ventilation shaft partially removed.
The hatch is missing and the shaft is filled with rubble to within two feet of the top. The pillbox that stood between the post and the clifftop fell onto the beach in 2025. The post is now only a few metres from the cliff edge and is likely to fall onto the beach in the next year or so.
Opened in 1965 and closed in 1968.
