On the west side of track to radio mast, 60 yards West of A39. Between two tumuli.
OPEN All surface features remain intact but the hatch is very rusty and ill fitting. The post has unusual metal frames over all four ventilation louvres with the openings pointing down at the ground. Presumable fitted by the observers to stop fallout entering. The hatch is open. The table, shelf and cupboard are in place together with two bed ends, a small splint, light, some papers and two signs. One says ‘maroon’ and the other, on a pointed wooden pole for sticking in the ground saying ‘Danger do not touch unexploded maroon’.
Opened in 1962 and closed in 1991.

The site remains in fairly good condition and open. The hinges for the lid have failed and it now needs to be lifted clear (and replaced carefully to minimise rain ingress).
The sump was full of water and the carpet damp underfoot but not flooded. There was no graffiti and the wooden structures were still in fairly good condition although the case for the GZI is badly rusted. A soggy cardboard box contains some bits and pieces. The maroons noted in the earlier report are missing.
The interior decor is reasonable and the polystyrene tiles remain in tact.

There have been stones placed on top of the hatch and you can no longer enter.
