In a rectangular compound on a low mound in the South West corner of a field, East of Mill Lane.
LOCKED There is a hand painted sign on the overgrown gate to the compound which reads ‘Ministry of Defence Property No admittance’. All surface features remain intact with the light green paint in good condition. A metal dome on the ventilation shaft indicates this was a master (radio) post. There is a rubber mat glued to the step. The hatch is locked.
Opened in 1962 and closed in 1991.

My Dad was in the Royal Observer Corps, I spend many hours down the ‘post’ in Market Rasen. It was one of Dad’s jobs to keep the grass cut around the post so whilst he did that I would often be down in the post. I was pretty oblivious to the cold war & the fact there was 2 Vulcan bombers on a runway just 5 miles from my house loaded with nuclear bombs. I also went to the regional control bunker at Fiskerton, I remember it being very impressive.
