On a mound on the South side of South Drove
OPEN All surface features remain intact. The hatch is damaged and is jammed half open, it can’t be fully opened or closed. Internally the post is flooded to a depth of 30 inches (during it’s operational life it was always a wet post) and all that is visible is the top of the cupboard.
Although there is nothing left of the aircraft post, there is a truncated telegraph pole with two telephone connection boxes with cables still in place. This would have been used in conjunction with the aircraft post.
Opened in 1962 and closed in 1968.
