On the north side of an un-named minor road, west of its junction with the track to East Wardlaw Farm.
LOCKED All surface features remain intact but very low in the ground with the bottom of the ventilation louvres at ground level. Most of the green paint gone. The top of the main ventilation shaft has fallen off and is lying on the ground nearby. The top of the ventilation shaft adjacent to the access shaft is also missing. A dome on the ventilation shaft and a wooden post with an aerial bracket alongside indicates this was a master post. The hatch is locked but can be opened with a Scottish ‘T’ bar key. The ladder and counter balance has gone and the shaft is filled with soil to the top of the monitoring room. Hutchinson Communications have approached the owner to buy the post site but he is reluctant to sell. Post members at stand down were George Small C/Obs Alan Masson L/Obs. Joe Scott, William G. Howie, Alex Baulk, Ian Reid, Ian Anderson, Eileen Faulds, Ruth Kingswood, George Hay (All Obs)
Opened in 1961 and closed in 1991.
