In a large square compound on a low hilltop, 100 yards south of Windmill Road.
WELDED All surface features remain intact but the post is set very low in the ground and what appears to be the BPI pipe is offset from its usual position and is located 3 feet to one side of the ventilation shaft. The green paint is flaking. The hatch is locked with the words ‘Danger - keep out’ painted on it. In recent years this post has been broken into on a number of occasions and the owner has had to replace the padlocks at his own expense. Following continued vandalism the hatch has now been welded shut.
An Orlit A stands in the southwest corner of the compound. It retains its original wooden external door, wooden instrument table, GPO wiring and junction boxes.
Opened in 1960 and closed in 1991.
