This land is now housing. The old site is now near the boundary of a property. The land is very overgrown.
I don’t think this shelter was ever demolished, I’ve lived nearby since birth. I think the entrance was covered with earth and left to become overgrown.
Friends and myself would try to open the hatch in the early 1980’s.
