In arable field 50 yards West of Wallop Road (B3084).
OPEN There is a style alongside the road for access. All surface features have been demolished with the hatch placed on top of the shaft at ground level. Internally the post is flooded to a depth of 18". The table shelf and cupboard are all that are visible above water level. It is unclear whether the farmer intends to finish the job by sealing the shaft and cultivating over the top. As the rubble from the surface was not tipped down the shaft perhaps the room will be retained for some purpose.
February 2019: Gratley roc post is now completely flooded and the hatch covered in overgrowth.
Opened in 1961 and closed in 1991.
