On a strip of land on the Esplanade between the sea and a boating lake.
DEMOLISHED The post had suffered badly due to its public
position when it use and it was therefore demolished shortly after closure. No evidence of it remains. A brick shelter with a tiled roof now stands on the site.
Opened in 1965 and closed in 1991.

Information is wrong the brick shelter has been there since before I was a child.
The ROC bunker was on the patch of grass to the side of the shelter there used to be a train track running nearby to it. As a kid we would try to dig the sand out from inside hence why the top was cut off and capped with a grassy turf and sand soil mix to prevent us kids trying to explore.
When it stood others would try and poor sand into the vents this would get a man to climb out and chase them off.
