In an arable field 100 yards south of Church Hill (near brow of hill).
OPEN. Externally in fair condition with all surface features intact. Apart from some wiring it is completely stripped internally. Listed as still open in 1976 in Attack Warning Red but closed by 1991.
Opened in 1961 and closed after 1976.
Visited the sits of Finchingfield ROC today.
Externally - Looking very worn now, no hatch present. Ladder still present but unfortunately now the entire ROC bunker has been flooded, therefore access is currently not possible. Would assume that even if the water recedes not much would be intact below. Easy to find just off the main road to Finchingfield. - The What3Words location is as follows: ///sound.woke.huddling
I was just cultivating in the field and realised that the water had drained out! Thought you might be interested in its condition; it’s been stripped though and travellers have thrown wire down there.
