Correction notes: Historic aerial imagery from late 1999 (included) shows a fresh demolition mound and associated scrub colonisation at this point, consistent with the mid-1990s infilling of the Dursley ROC Post following stand-down in September 1991. Agricultural mowing lines curve around the disturbance, and the vegetation bloom pattern matches recently re-profiled ground. The feature subsequently settled during the early 2000s and is now no longer visible on modern aerial photography.
Local testimony: Submitted by a local whose family has lived on Taits Hill since the 1960s and remembers the post in situ prior to demolition. The position is described as being on the hedgeline on the crest above Dursley, matching the expected siting characteristics for ROC posts in this region.
Demolition details (suspected): The post appears to have been removed using the common method seen in Gloucestershire during this period: the surface collar and hatch were broken out, the chamber roof slab breached, and the underground space backfilled with rubble and soil before topsoil was spread and reseeded. The positive relief visible in 1999 suggests no remaining void.
