On the edge of a quarry surrounded by quarried rubble on the east side of A889. NGR NN 63643 86207 WWII Aircraft Post at rear of quarry NN 63908 86317
LOCKED All surface features remain intact with the green paint flaking badly. The louvers on the ventilation shaft adjacent to the access shaft are lying on the ground nearby the other two louvres are missing. The tops of both ventilation shafts are damaged and the step is detached. The hatch is locked.
July 2013 Still looking very sad but still surviving.
Opened in 1961 and closed in 1991.
