On the north side of a field boundary 150 yards west of an un-named minor road.
OPEN All the surface features apart from the BPI pipe are intact but there has been some soil erosion leaving the concrete apron (some of which has broken away), 6" above the ground. 5 courses of bricks are now visible below each shaft. The top of the main ventilation shaft is missing and the top of the other ventilation shaft is damaged. The ventilation louvres are also missing. The hatch is open. Internally the post is flooded to a depth of 2" with the twin bunks, single bed, table, cupboard and small wooded chest of draws remaining. There is also a GPO junction box with wiring; battery fuse box with wiring and a more recently fitted fluorescent light and car battery, which still works. Although the post is wet it is relatively clean and free of any vandalism. The post has been built back to front.
Opened in 1960 and closed in 1968.
