In a large compound on the East side of farm track and irrigation channel (Catchwater Drain). 200 yards NE from Moorside.
LOCKED All surface features are intact with the light green paint in good condition. The hatch is locked.
Opened in 1963 and closed in 1991.
Hatch open, both latches to hold the hatch shut are very stiff.
Ladder can be slightly wobbly at the bottom, but the shaft is in good condition, with the interior paint still intact. Interior has a little trash inside of it but it is generally in good shape, with no damp or wetness to it.
I visted the post in November 2024. It is in really good condition inside; the latch is stiff - WD40 would be a good idea. Its dry and very warm down there.
