Completed in 1759, Christian’s Church is a Lutherian Church also known as the Theatre Church after its boxed pews which resemble theatre boxes. There is room for a congregation of around one thousand. Benath the whole nave is a large crypt divided into 48 chapels containing hundreds of coffins. Unusually, the crypt is connected to the body of the church by a relatively modern coffin lift. The crypt is still in use and can be visited during the hours the church is open.
