Close to field boundary 80 yards South West of trig. station on hilltop 250 yards West of Pikes Pool Lane. The land is used by the Scouts as an adventure camp.
SEALED The post is within a small fenced enclosure but the fencing isn’t original. Two gate posts from the original, much larger compound still stand along the field boundary. All major surface features remain intact with some green paint remaining although the step and the louvres are missing. The hatch is detached and has had some handles welded onto it so that it can be easily lifted on and off. The ladder is also missing so access was gained using an electron caving ladder. Internally the post has suffered some smoke and fire damage. The twin bunks and a single bed remain together with half of the BPI mount. The monitoring room door is leaning against the wall. There is some rubbish strewn around the post. When visited in 2000 the post was open nut it has now been capped with concrete.
AK August 2007 The land is now owned or managed by Birmingham Scouts as an Activity Centre, and they have sealed the entrance with concrete. Looking at this concrete there is the inscription: Peace 2005.
Opened in 1961 and closed in 1968.
