This was built by the Great Western Railway during World War 2. It is similar to other GWR control centres such as that at Newport.
It is built underneath Snow Hill station. The bunker has a entrance and emergency escape both fitted with gas proof blast doors, a ventilation plant room and main room next door which would have once housed telephone equipment.
GWR had many of these type of bunkers built across the region with only a few remaining
