In a small rectangular compound on a low hilltop, East of a public footpath, 150 yards West of Audlem Road (A529).
LOCKED All surface features remain intact with some flaking of the grey paint. There are three steps up to the access shaft. The hatch is locked.
Opened in 1965 and closed in 1991.
I sadly couldn’t see the hatch lid anywhere nearby so I suspect it may have been stolen. I didn’t go in it since I didn’t have permission but I can see a considerable layer of dirt and multiple stickers with numbers on them down the shaft.
I went to Audlem ROC Post which is in poor condition and has been set on fire. I found the hatch at the bottom of the ladder. There is next to nothing left inside due to the fire. What a great shame that history is being destroyed rather then gently fading.
