The Admiralty Citadel is of massive concrete construction behind the Admiralty building and adjacent to Horse Guards Parade. It was built between 1940 and 1941 and provided a bomb-proof operations control and communications centre.
The structure has been planted with virginia creeper to soften its appearance and remains in use today.
