The original mine was founded in 17422 and expanded into Llywernog Mine and mined lead and silver. At its deepest, its main shaft reached 132m over time but its started to be outcompeted by larger scale mines around the world in the 1880s before closing in 1910.
Now presented as Silver Mountain Experience, it is open to the public.
It offers a range of tours including those based on the mining history as well as others about the underground experience.
