Knole House is a very large house (occupying 4 acres) orignally built in the 15th century and expanded during the 16th and 17th centuries. It is now opened and operated by the National Trust.
In the grounds is a brick lined ice house, the dome-shaped exterior of which is visible. The entrance has long been buried and is currently being excavated.
