Cheadle Heath North Junction taken looking north from the A560 bridge in February 2005.  This was the point at which the chord (still extant) down to Cheadle Junction (CLC) diverged from the MR main line. The main line route is marked by the grass bank visible between the fence and the pylon.  It then crossed the  River Mersey on a high iron viaduct and immediately after that, the CLC line was crossed by a separate bridge.  The remains of the northern abutment of this bridge can just be made out either side of the lamp post in the centre.
