German Air-Raid Shelters - an introduction to the Luftschutzbunker
of World War II
Although the light was fading rapidly as this photo
was taken, it still shows the monumental scale of this air raid shelter
extension to an existing block of flats. The original 'heritage' style
dormer windows (shown in the architect's drawing on page 112 of Bauen
unterm Hakenkreuz have been rebuilt in a more modern style).
