The hatch is locked internally but can be opened with a Scottish 'T' bar key. Internally the post is flooded to a depth of 8" but still contains many artifacts including twin bunks, fire blanket box, various charts and lists (including a typed list of the 58 posts of 30 Group as at 1.10.87), large circular wooden instrument with a weather vane, Jerry can, tool rack, battery switching box, duffle coat, rubber gloves in bag, wiring, kettle, mess tins and 3 pairs of Wellington Boots. The ladder, counterbalance weight, pump and internal vent shutters are all painted red. |
