| Description | DEMOLISHED No trace of anything remains. Two local residents confirmed the position and both thought the post was still extant but an extensive search revealed no trace. A small compound in the playing field is the school’s weather monitoring station. |

An aircraft post stands on a hilltop several miles to the north east at NG69601260. It is of the standard Scottish post war design consisting of a building approximately 7' X 5' with an open topped observation area approximately 5' X 5' and a crew room with a sloping tin sheet as a roof. The removable tin roof for the observation room lies on the grass nearby. This post was known as Isle of Oronsay but was re-named Ardvasar when resited in 1961. |
