Location At the end of a line of telegraph poles in a rectangular compound, 150 yards along public footpath running West from Wykin Lane. At point where footpath turns South through hedgerow.
Description WELDED All surface features remain intact with some flaking of the green paint. The step has gone. A dome on the ventilation shaft indicates this was a master post. The hatch has an unusual locking arrangements consisting of two large hasps with a hinged metal bar that locks across the top of them. The hatch is open. Internally the post is fire damage and strewn with rubbish but much still remains including twin bunks. cupboard, table, shelf, mirror, paper rack, fire blanket box, BT connection box, copper straps along the walls, BPI mount, some papers, two battery boxes, 10 Jerry cans, rope, sickle, spade, broom, utensils, cleaning materials, notice board, two original canvas chairs and one modern chair, wiring and a wooden sign which reads 'ROC Post 8/J1' The post was open when inspected in 1999 but the hatch has now been welded shut.

NB No equipment is kept in the post and it is only installed for open days.
