A dome and bracket on the ventilation shaft indicates this was a master post. The post was demolished on August 6th 2002 as it was regarded as a danger to large aircraft using the adjacent taxiway. Until 2002 it was occasionally used by the Devon Fire & Rescue service, as well as the Airport Fire Brigade, to practice casualty evacuations. The adjacent pillbox was also demolished |
