|Location||In a small rectangular compound on Berry Head on the west side of a private road half way between the cafˇ and coastguard station.|
|Description||LOCKED The compound fencing looks new but could be original. All surface features remain intact with a little flaking of the gray paint. There is an 18" extension to the ventilation shaft adjacent to the access shaft with the GZI mounting on top. The hatch is locked. The post is to be preserved with a display mounted at the Berry Head Visitors Centre.
A plaque has been fitted to the underground post but the dates are incorrect - see below.
|An aircraft post stands nearby. This is to be converted into a bird watching hide as part of the Berry Head Park project although no work has been done yet. It consists of a rendered brick building approximately 10' X 13' on a slightly larger stone base, which is about 4' high. The 8' X 8' open observation area still retains some of its sloping wooden surround. The 8' X 5' crew room has a concrete roof. There is a small extension on one end, which would have housed a toilet.|
