County Derbyshire
Date opened April 1962
Date closed September 1991
Location At the end of a line of telegraph poles on the east side of track to Upper Eaton Farm, 350 yards north of its junction with the track to Eaton Hall Farm.
Description OPEN A cellphone aerial has been erected within the compound but all surfaces features from the ROC post remain intact with some flaking of the grey paint. A metal dome on the ventilation shaft indicates this was a master post. The hatch is very rusty but is open. The post is flooded to a depth of 4' and apart from aerial cables, nothing is visible above the water level. During its operational life, the post has always been wet. In May 1991 5000 pounds was spent digging out the post and resealing it. While this was happening a portacabin was placed on site for the crew.
A small wooden hut (the size of a public phone box) stands nearby. It has a chair in it but its purpose is unknown.
