| Location | In a large irregularly shaped compound on high point next to trig station on the East side of High Lane (stub end of old alignment of B5367). |
| Description | OPEN Steps lead up from the footpath running North from the stub end of the road. All surface features remain intact with the green paint flaking badly. the hatch, which is locked, has been strengthened (prior to closure) with stronger hinges and hasps. A metal dome on the ventilation shaft indicates this was a master post. The observers on this post installed a mains generator. At the time of the post inspection in 1999 the hatch was locked. When inspected in 2006 it was found to be open. There is little change externally but internally the post is damp and in poor condition. Some artefacts remain including the table, shelf, cupboard, rack of Dexion shelving, battery switching box, fuse box, BPI mount, some papers, 3 chairs, BPI blanking plate, 2 mattresses, copper earth straps, BT junction box/wiring, fire blanket box and FSM mount. The post is to be tidied up and relocked during the winter of 2006. |
