| Post Name | SEDLESCOMBE |
| OS Grid Reference | TQ78151857 |
| County | Sussex |
| Date opened | September 1961 |
| Date closed | October 1968 |
| Location | In wooded compound on west side of footpath running north from the end of Long Lane. |
| Description | OPEN Externally the post is in poor condition with the shaft hatch and BPI pipe missing and ventilation shaft reduced to several course of bricks and bent reinforcing rods. The access shaft was blocked with rubble five feet down when inspected in 1997 but it has now been partially cleared out. It would appear that the only reason the shaft was cleared was to allow the landowner to dump dead sheep down it. Internally the post is flooded to a depth of 6" and all that remains are the dismantled twin bunks and single bed. |
