Date opened November 1962
Date closed September 1991
Location In a heavily overgrown compound on the South side of Tanhouse Lane (unmade road).
Description OPEN When visited in 1999 all surface features remain intact with the green paint in good condition. A metal dome on the ventilation shaft indicates this was a master post. The hatch is open and is badly corroded. Internally the post is very damp with the sump overflowing. A false raised wooden floor has been built across the central section of the monitoring room. This has now rotted making walking on it difficult. Much remains including the table, shelf, cupboard, copper straps along the walls, wiring, light, battery switching box, papers, maps on wall, utensils, plastic bowl, spade, dustpan and brush part of the aerial mast, two brooms and a pair of trousers hanging on the back of the door. In 2006 the post is now enclosed within a fenced horse training area. The ventilation shaft GZI and BPI pipes agve gone as has the second vent shaft adjacent to the access shaft. There is some damage to the concrete of the access shaft, probably caused during the removal of thr adjacent vent shaft.
