|OS Grid Reference||SN834029|
|Date opened||January 1964|
|Date closed||October 1968|
|Location||The post was re-sited to a colliery on the valley floor because the rocky nature of the earlier site gave false readings on the instruments. It was located close to the coal screen at Glyn Castle Colliery with concrete steps leading up to it. The colliery was closed in 1966.
|Description||DEMOLISHED The colliery site is now waste ground and there is no evidence of the post.
|There is an Orlit A at SN8340502575 within a small rectangular compound a quarter of a mile to the South and up a bank to the South of a public footpath. It is perched close to the edge of a quarry and is built on solid rock so the site would not be suitable for an underground post. The Orlit is in poor condition with holes in a number of panels. Internally it has been painted yellow by local children who have installed carpets and chairs.
