| Description | OPEN All surface features remain intact with some flaking of the green paint. All the ventilation louvres missing. The hatch is locked but can be open with a Scottish ‘T bar’ key. BEWARE There is stagnant water in the post and when disturbed it gives off Hydrogen Sulphide which is highly toxic. Everything in the post is damp. Remaining artefacts include: table, shelf, cupboard, twin bunks, two mattresses, two duffle coats, two chairs, WB1401 carrier receiver with WB1410 filter unit, Tele-Talk, box of printing out paper, Wellington boots, 2 cloud posters, candle holder, BT junction boxes, papers, waste bin, FSM pipe gasket, rope and bucket. There is also the circular chart from an aircraft post instrument. All the wood is painted dark red. |

A brick aircraft post stands on the edge of Carradale Golf Course, 500 yards to the south (NR81703828). It consists of a rectangular building approximately 7' X 5'. It has an open topped observation area approximately 5' X 5' and a crew room that had a sloping tin sheet as a roof. The roof is now missing but the building is in good condition. |
