Location By trig. station. On a mound within a square compound in the middle of a wood 80 yards north of an un-named minor road.
Description OPEN A path defined by wires runs through the coniferous
plantation with a style at either end. The wood is thick and the path is very dark. All surface features remain intact with some flaking of the khaki paint. A metal dome on the ventilation shaft indicates this was a master post. The hatch is damaged and partly detached and cannot be closed properly. Internally remaining artifacts include the folding table, shelf, cupboard, WB1401 carrier receiver with WB1410 filter unit, BT junction boxes and wiring, BPI mount, mounting bolts for aerial pump, some papers, dustpan, broom, light, switch, rope. There is also a sign, which reads '45 Post Methlick'(2001). When the post was visited in July 2007 almost everything had been stripped from it with the exception of wiring. The photograph below shows some timber indicating some furure intended use for the post.
Condition: When the post was visited in 2015, little had changed since 2007. The post is still in a bad condition with everything stripped out of it.
Date of Visit 21.7.2001
