Post Name MAENCLOCHOG
OS Grid Reference SN07082788
County Pembrokeshire
Date opened January 1960
Date closed September 1991
Location In a rectangular compound on the east side of a field boundary at the end of a line of telegraph poles, 300 yards west of an un-named minor road.
Description LOCKED The post is owned by England Electrical Communications and is used to house PMR radio repeaters. The post is securely locked and alarmed. Because of the long distance to a mains supply the post has not been connected to the mains. Power is generated by a solar panel and a wind vane; these keep batteries charged which run the PMR equipment. The post has new internal lighting. All surface features remain intact; the access shaft is painted grey and is in good condition. There is no paint left on the ventilation shaft. A metal dome on the side of the ventilation shaft indicates this was a master post. A non standard hatch has been fitted by the ROC; it is larger than usual and has a different internal locking mechanism. Adjacent to the ventilation shaft is a small lattice radio mast with a solar panel at its base. The FSM pipe is surrounded by a concrete pillar. Internally remaining ROC artifacts include the table, shelf, cupboard, siren box, BT junction boxes and wiring, BPI mount, COAX cable, earth straps, spade, battery switching box, dustpan, rope, plastic bowl, wire brush old GPO batter for WB400, saucepan, teapot, dome key and a long foot stool.
