In a square compound in the north west corner of a larger compound containing two large aerial masts, part of an outstation for Stonehaven Radio (BT maritime station). 250 yards along track from an un-named minor road.
LOCKED All surface features remain intact with some flaking of the beige paint. A metal dome on the ventilation shaft indicates this was a master post. The hatch is locked but there are no padlocks so it can be opened with a Scottish ‘T’ bar key. Internally the post is in good condition with much remaining including the folding table, shelf, cupboard, floor standing rack of Dexion shelves, fire blanket/box, several laminated cluster maps and other laminated papers, 2 original folding canvas chairs, 3 Jerry cans, pots/pans, kettle, pick axe, spade, crow bar, dome handle, two buckets, waste bin, rope, BPI mount, coax cable and a small splint. Unusually there is a 3" wide and 15" high protruding section of wall around the floor of the monitoring room and the base of the shaft. Much of the internal woodwork is painted bright green.
Opened in 1962 and closed in 1991.
